Why Race City

The dumpster company Mooresville calls back

Most people renting a dumpster are already having a stressful week. The kitchen is in pieces, the roof is half off, or a family member has passed and there is a house full of forty years to sort out. The last thing anyone needs is a hauler who quotes one price, invoices another, and drops a container across the mailbox.

We started Race City Dumpster Rental in 2013 with one truck and one rule: tell people the truth about what it costs and show up when we said we would. 13 years later that has not changed. Cody Brawley still answers the phone most mornings, and our drivers still walk the drop before they back in.

We are based on 295 Cayuga Dr here in Mooresville, which means we are not routing a truck down from Charlotte or over from Statesville when you need a container today. We know which Brawley School Road neighborhoods have driveways too short for a 30, which lake roads a loaded truck should not attempt after heavy rain, and which HOAs will send you a letter if the can sits past Sunday.

Local knowledge

What makes hauling in Mooresville different

Red clay is heavy

Piedmont clay soil, brick and block hit tonnage limits long before they fill a container. A 20 yard can that looks half empty can be four tons over. Heavy inert material belongs in a dedicated 10 yard heavy can — we will tell you that up front rather than surprise you with an overage.

Lake driveways are tight

Peninsula and lakefront lots off Brawley School Road, Isle of Pines and Perth Road often have short, steep or curved driveways. Our drivers measure before they back in, lay protection boards, and will tell you honestly if a 30 will not fit rather than wedge it in.

Storms make work

Summer straight-line winds and winter ice both take limbs down across Iredell County. When the town debris queue runs weeks long, a container in your driveway beats waiting. See our yard waste and storm debris service.

NC has landfill bans

North Carolina bans a long list of items from landfill disposal — tires, appliances, electronics, batteries, oil, pallets and more. Put one of them in the can and the whole load can get flagged. Our accepted-materials guide covers every one.

What customers say

Straight talk from Mooresville and the Lake Norman region

We were gutting a kitchen off Brawley School Road and had no idea what size we needed. Cody talked me through it in about three minutes, put a 20 in the driveway the next morning on boards, and the price he quoted was the price I paid. That basically never happens.

Dana R.Mooresville — Kitchen Renovation

Used them for a roof tear-off in Cornelius. The driver actually walked the driveway with me first and set the can on the side we were working. Picked it up the same afternoon we finished. Easiest part of the whole job.

Marcus T.Cornelius — Roofing Contractor

After my father passed we had to clear out his house in Troutman. They were patient with us, swapped the container once without any drama, and never made us feel rushed. That mattered more than I expected.

Ellen H.Troutman — Estate Cleanout

We run three crews and Race City is the only hauler I don't have to chase. Cans show up when they say, swaps happen next day, invoices match the quote. That's the whole review.

Dumpster Rental FAQs

How fast can you deliver a dumpster in Mooresville?

Most of the time, same day if you call before about 11am, and next morning otherwise. We run our own trucks out of 295 Cayuga Dr in Mooresville, so we are not waiting on a dispatcher two counties away. During storm cleanup and peak spring remodeling weeks it can stretch to 48 hours, and we will tell you honestly when you call.

What does a flat rate actually include?

Delivery, pickup, an agreed rental period and a set tonnage allowance with disposal included. No fuel surcharge, no environmental fee, no admin fee. The only way the number changes is if you go over the weight allowance or keep the container longer than agreed, and we tell you both limits before we deliver.

Do I need to be home for delivery or pickup?

No. Plenty of our customers text us a photo of where they want it and go to work. All we need is clear access, a spot free of cars and low branches, and permission to be on the property. If access is tight or gated, tell us when you book and we will schedule accordingly.

Will the dumpster damage my driveway?

We put protection boards under the wheels and rails on every residential delivery, which spreads the load across the slab instead of concentrating it on four small contact patches. Asphalt in Piedmont summer heat is the main risk, so we favour morning drops on asphalt. Our driveway protection guide explains it fully.

Do I need a permit for a dumpster in Mooresville?

On your own driveway or private property, generally no. In the public street or right-of-way, you usually do — that goes through the Town of Mooresville (or NCDOT on state-maintained roads), and HOA rules may apply on top. We walk customers through this every week; see our permit guide or just call.

What can I not put in the dumpster?

Wet paint, solvents, motor oil, fuel, pesticides, asbestos, propane and other pressurised cylinders, batteries, medical waste, tires, and freon-containing appliances. North Carolina also bans electronics such as televisions and computers from landfill disposal. Everything else on a normal cleanout or renovation is fine — when in doubt, ask us before it goes in.

Still not sure?

Two minutes on the phone beats twenty minutes reading. Tell us the job and we will size it, price it and book it.
