Junk Removal Dumpsters in Mooresville, NC
Clear out a garage, shed, office, storage unit or basement on your own schedule. Container in the driveway, load it when you have time, one call and it is gone.
There are two ways to get rid of junk. Pay a crew by the truckload to carry it out for you, or put a container in the driveway and do it yourself over a weekend for a fraction of the cost. We do the second one.
For most people that trade is easy. A full-service junk removal crew charges by volume and by labour, and a garage full of decades of accumulation adds up quickly. A container is one flat price whether you fill it in four hours or four days, and nobody is standing in your kitchen watching the clock.
It also means you sort as you go. Half of what comes out of a garage is worth listing, donating or scrapping, and you cannot make those calls while somebody is loading a truck around you.
What people clear out
Garages and carports
The single most common job we take. Paint, tools, bikes, boxes, the lot.
Basements and crawlspaces
Damp cardboard, mildewed furniture and storage nobody has opened in years.
Attics
Insulation-covered boxes, Christmas decorations, old luggage. Watch the heat in summer.
Sheds and outbuildings
Rusted equipment, lumber offcuts, pool and lake gear that did not survive the humidity.
Storage units
Whole-unit clear-outs on a deadline, often after an auction or a lease ending.
Home offices and paperwork
Filing, old computers and monitors — note electronics cannot go in the container under NC law.
Rental turnover
Abandoned tenant contents, damaged furniture and appliances.
Downsizing and pre-move purges
Very common around the lake. The stuff that does not make the cut.
Sizing a junk container
Household junk is bulky rather than heavy, so volume is usually the constraint and you can size generously without weight worries. A two-car garage typically fills a 15 yard. A full basement or a three-bedroom house worth of contents usually wants a 20. Whole-house clear-outs with furniture from every room go to a 30. The one exception is if you are also pulling out carpet, tile or cabinets, because those add real weight — mention it and we will adjust the allowance.
15 Yard Dumpster
Single-room remodels, roof tear-offs up to about 20 squares, garage cleanouts.

The list is shorter than people fear but it matters. No wet paint, solvents or chemicals. No motor oil, fuel or antifreeze. No propane tanks or pressurised cylinders. No batteries. No tires. No appliances containing refrigerant until the freon is recovered. And under North Carolina's landfill disposal bans, no televisions, computers or other electronic devices. Those go to county convenience centres, household hazardous waste events, retailer take-back programmes or a scrap yard. Our materials guide covers every category with a local destination for each.

Junk Removal Dumpsters FAQs
Is a dumpster cheaper than a junk removal service?
For anything more than a small load, usually yes and often by a wide margin. Full-service removal prices labour and volume together. A container is one flat rate regardless of how long you take. The trade-off is that you do the loading.
How long do I get to fill it?
The standard rental window covers a comfortable weekend plus some, and we confirm the exact period when you book. If you know you need longer — a lot of people clear out over two weekends — say so and we will build it into the flat rate.
Can I put furniture and mattresses in?
Furniture yes, all of it. Mattresses are usually fine but tell us when you book because some facilities handle them separately. Break down what you can — a disassembled bed frame takes a third of the space of an assembled one.
What about a garage full of old paint cans?
Wet paint cannot go in. Latex paint can often be dried out with kitty litter or a hardener and then disposed of as solid waste; oil-based paint and solvents need a household hazardous waste event. Iredell County runs collections — check their site for current dates.
Do you take appliances?
Non-refrigerant appliances such as washers, dryers, stoves and dishwashers can generally go in. Anything containing refrigerant — refrigerators, freezers, window AC units, dehumidifiers — needs certified freon recovery first and is banned from landfill disposal in North Carolina.
